The Be-Ruth Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to build & uplift teen girls and empower them by increasing their knowledge and skills in STEAM. Be-Ruth is a haven, a resource, and a training ground for teens to be successful in education, career & community impact. Our girls soar, like a butterfly, with purpose, grace, strength and the ability to overcome any perceived barrier. Founded in 2009, Be-Ruth Foundation is a social impact organization, with the understanding that girls between the ages of 9-17 are in the early stages of development, making them more receptive to the benefits of mentoring and career guidance. We empower girls ages 9-17 to lead with confidence, clarity and compassion in a STEAM world by encouraging self-expression, igniting innovation, and celebrating their uniqueness in preparation for successful STEAM related activities and professions. Philana Swann is a Change Agent in the lives of teens. She creates programs in the area of STEAM that empowers young women to excel and overcome obstacles. Philana is also a professional working in the industry. Her corporate ties assist her in forging relationships that benefit vulnerable members of the community. Philana is also a strong family matriarch. Her immediate and extended family unit depends on her for wisdom, love, support and resources that help them be the very best they can be.
